Nintendo's gone and made me cry-- again!-- with a Pokemon movie. Have I previously seen "Genesect and The Legend Awakened"? Yes. Did the one Genesect's words strike me before? No.
Seeing the film again, I can sympathize with the Genesect's search for a place they belong. Even now, I battle with the same feeling, and have in the past: being in the foster care system; being the outcast in school; and now being a senior. So where do I go now? I keep hearing the Genesect's plea in my head: "I want to go home."
As humans we can go our whole lives without finding our-- not "a", our-- place in this world. Without that feeling of belonging, we can succumb to the demons of our society-- love of destruction, greed, and envy, among others. We're all meant to do and be so much more, to be where we can find happiness.
It's my belief that we're all capable of such greatness. But what are we doing to achieve that greatness? Are we busy working at the cubicle farm, unwilling to ask what more we can do? Or are we searching for the place that we belong?s
